Three Die In Georgia Car Crash

Tragedy struck three Conyers, Georgia area families late last month when a car traveling eastbound on I-20 ran off the road and hit a tree. According to a report from ABC affiliate WJBF Channel 6, investigators believe the car was speeding when the accident took place.
The Georgia State Patrol has now confirmed the names of the deceased: the driver, Joshua Miller, 22; and passengers McKenzie Blair Smith, 22; and Eliseo Degante Jr., 27. What makes this tragedy worse is the relatively young age of all who died in the accident. One can’t help but feel a deepened sense of sorrow when the victims had such full and promising lives ahead of them.
According to national statistics, the automobile accident fatality rate among people in their 20s is among the highest, topped only by people in their late teens. While people in their 20s may physically and legally qualify as adults, they often don’t have the maturity and life experience to adequately handle the responsibilities of adulthood. If you know a young adult driver, please speak to them about the dangers of recklessly operating a motor vehicle.
Under Georgia state law, the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident is responsible for all injuries and damages to passengers. If a family member has been injured or killed due to a driver’s negligence or misconduct, you may be able to take legal action.
